Surfer Doll

While sorting things for the move, I found this tiny Japanese doll that had something that bothered me. So, for a while, I was thinking about drawing a horror picture with the doll being villainous. Things changed when I found the credit music from Monkeybone call "Fall Away" by Eleni Mandell. The song was very soothing that I decided to do a surfing related piece instead.

Using my tutorial book and Lilo and Stitch coloring book, I drew the doll holding a surfboard.

When I was inking it in a restaurant during my aunt's birthday, I just realized I needed a design on the surfboard. Looking at the table, I noticed the wineglass. So, a wine motif deemed good at the time.

The ground itself was based after a surfing image that I used reference to get the sunset just right.
